HP Embedded Security for ProtectTools is a hardware-assisted security solution for select HP business PCs. Built to leverage the system’s Trusted Platform Module (TPM), it helps protect sensitive data and credentials by anchoring cryptographic operations in the device’s embedded security chip. Working within the HP ProtectTools Security Manager framework, it enables TPM initialization and management, secure key and certificate storage, file and folder encryption, digital signatures and secure email, and TPM-protected logon. Guided setup, policy controls, and secure backup and recovery of security materials support streamlined deployment and business continuity. By combining hardware-based protection with tight integration into Windows and common enterprise workflows, HP Embedded Security for ProtectTools helps reduce the risk of data theft, tampering, and unauthorized access on supported HP desktops, notebooks, and workstations equipped with a compatible TPM.
